Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is here and it is arguably the best smartphone the smartphone market has at the moment. The launch of iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus is just around the corner so this point may not be valid in a month from now. But the real question is ” Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 5?” especially when you already have flagship phone such as the Note 4 or the LG G4? Let’s find the answer right now!

The key features of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 are as follows:

  • 5.7″ Quad HD Display
  • Exynos 7420 Soc
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 16MP camera with f1.9 lens
  • 5MP front-shooter
  • 32GB/64GB/128GB Internal Storage
  • No Micro-SD Card Slot Expansion Slot
  • 3000mAh non-removable battery
  • Finger Print Scanner
  • No IR Blaster

If you didn’t notice it already, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is not an overall upgrade over the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. There are three key features that are missing in this iteration of Note. The one many of the reporters have missed out is the lack of IR blaster which is huuuuge for many people including me! Omission of IR blaster didn’t really make sense to me. In fact, there is a dedicated article where I rant about the lack of that specific feature.  You can read it(NO IR BLASTER (NO REMOTE CONTROL) IN GALAXY NOTE 5) here.

The other two features which are near and dear to many of the power users that have gone missing in the Note 5 are the lack of Micro-SD card slot and lack of removable battery. Not only that Samsung has opted for a smaller 3000mAh battery for the Note 5 which isn’t very ideal.

But again, that is about it. If you can live with those shortcomings, you will love the Galaxy Note 5. Beyond those things, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is an excellent device. For starters, Note 5 has excellent 5.7″ QHD Amoled Display which is the best display I have ever encountered in my life. The phone is very fast and snappy.

The camera on the Galaxy Note 5 is just as good as that on the Galaxy S6 if you better. It is rally a good thing as the Galaxy S6 had an excellent camera. The S-Pen ejection mechanism is much better on the Note 5 which uses push to eject mechanism. 4GB is ample for multi-tasking and the phone itself looks very premium.

Overall, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is the best phone you can buy right now. A really good phone but you better wait for a month to see what Apple has to offer! Thanks for reading this post. Stay tuned and stay updated at AppGameBlog! You can read more about the Note 5 here.
