Samsung Galaxy A3 2016: All there is to know

The A-team is having a comeback! Samsung is going to release the 2nd generation of its A-series sometime this month for 2016. The launch will include an all improved versions of the Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. The A5 and the A7 are big ass smartphones and they have become even bigger than their last 3. So, if you want something small and compact, that’ll comfortably fit your pockets, then the Samsung Galaxy A3, the smallest of the three would be an ideal choice for you. So, if you want to know more about it, read on Samsung Galaxy A3 2016: All there is to know.Samsung-Galaxy-A3-All-there-is-to-know

Design and Display

Samsung-Galaxy-A3-All-there-is-to-knowThe Samsung Galaxy A3 features the same allure of the high-end Samsung Galaxy S6. It will remind you of the S6 when you first look at it, just smaller. It has good build quality with a metal frame with glass at front and back. It features the volume keys at the left side with the speakers at the bottom. The phone is also slimmer than the original A3, and with it’s narrower bezel, it gives superior viewing experience. The small and compact phone is perfect for those who prefer these over phablets.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 offers a Super AMOLED 4.7″ display screen with an HD resolution of  720 x 1280 pixels, which will be quite good enough for such a phone.

Samsung-Galaxy-A3-All-there-is-to-knowCompared to the previous A3, there has been a huge bump with the cameras on this version! It features a 13 MP rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash for better and clearer pictures. The camera offers autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus and face-detection features and is able to shoot great 1080 p videos @30 fps. It’s a shame that this one doesn’t feature the Optical Image Stabilization that it’s siblings, the A5 and A7 enjoy. The selfie camera is a 5 MP, also with a f/1.9 aperture that makes for fantastic selfies!

It’s nothing extra-ordinary but the picture quality is very good for it’s level  and as it can’t be compared to the Samsung flagships, it’s a definite improvement over the original A3, so, no room for complaints, really. Also, it’s got a the Quick Launch feature which launches the camera in less than a second by clicking the home button twice.

Software and Platform

The Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 can’t be called a powerhouse, but it is powerful enough as it’ll be running on a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 Chipset, and will be supported by a Quad-Core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU with an Adreno 306 GPU.  The smartphone will be running on Android 5.1.1 OS Lollipop, which will give it a familiar feel whilst it’s use.

Battery and Memory

The Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 will feature a 1.5 GB of RAM to support it’s OS and platform. Also, it gives 16 GB of internal storage space, which is too little, but fortunately, it’s expandable upto 128 GB with a microSD card slot.

This smartphone has a non-removable Li-Io 2300 mAh battery, which is not enough for an Android device, but then again, Samsung isn’t known for it’s devices’ battery life and it’s still an up from the previous version. For a normal user, charging once a day should be enough.

There’s not many new features on this phone, only some upgrades here and there, but it’s still great. It’s other siblings feature many new features, so, you might want to check them out as well. In case you missed anything, here’s a quick review with comparisons to the previous Galaxy A3.
